ORAC Value

Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) is a unit value assigned by researchers to measure the anti-oxidant values of a given food. Foods with a high ORAC value are beneficial to the body by increasing plasma anti-oxidant levels. Anti-oxidants are valuable to the body because they fight free radicals, agents that can cause cellular damage. Fruits and vegetables have a unique combination of anti-oxidants that have proven better than supplementation with individual antioxidant vitamins. The higher ORAC value (6900 per scoop) the better for you – that’s why we put high concentrations of fruits and vegetables in our Sweet Greens.

While most green drinks start with powdered grasses, we have formulated Sweet Greens giving a significant boost to grass values and the resulting pH balancing benefit to the body. Because grasses contain a broad array of fully bio-available naturally occurring minerals, especially calcium and magnesium, they help keep the body alkaline. Typical America diets contain high protein and high acid-ash. Alkalizing the body helps protect against ravaging diseases that result when the body becomes too acidic.
